We’re excited to announce the addition of two pioneers in mobile analytics, apps and advertising to the Motally Board of Directors and Advisory Board. Former M:Metrics and Jupiter Research executive Seamus McAteer is joining the Board of Directors. Web Analytics veteran Rand Schulman is joining Niren Hiro, former AdMob VP & Managing Director, Doug McFarland, former President of Jupiter Media Metrix, and Ben Wan, former COO of TheBroth, on the Advisory Board. In their respective positions, this board group will continue to propel Motally’s award-winning analytics services for mobile websites, apps, and mobile games on the iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry platforms.
McAteer brings almost two decades of experience in the wireless and online media sectors both as an analyst and entrepreneur. Seamus is currently Managing Director of Market Research at Majestic Research, a leading analytics company. He previously was Chief Product Architect and co-founder at M:Metrics, the leader in mobile media measurement, which was acquired by ComScore in 2008. As an analyst McAteer headed up technology coverage as Research Fellow at Jupiter Media Metrix and was a Senior Analyst with SRI International.
“Simply repurposing website analytics for mobile content is clearly suboptimal given the technical variances across multiple devices, networks and content types. As mobile platforms fast become a primary venue for content consumption the demand for new forms of specialized content analytics is set to soar,” said McAteer. “Motally is uniquely positioned to profit from this trend as it has the most comprehensive solution for reporting on activity across mobile web and applications.”
Advisor Rand Schulman is Principal at Schulman+Thorogood, and his experience includes roles of Chief Marketing Officer at both InsideView and WebSideStory, the latter of which was acquired by Omniture in 2008. Schulman also founded the Web Analytics Association and was also the founder and CEO of one of the first SaaS companies, Keylime Software, which was acquired by Overture in 1997. BtoB Magazine named Schulman as one of the top 100 BtoB marketing executives in 2005.
“The mobile analytics sector today reminds me of the earliest days of the Internet & web analytics, only it’s orders of magnitude larger,” said Schulman.
Welcome, Seamus and Rand!
